Internet from the socket with the Netgear Powerline 1200
Do you know that? The modem is in room A, but you also need internet in room B and have no LAN connection and only poor Wi-Fi reception. So what are you doing? You lay a cable across the apartment, schlimmstensfalls even have to drill a small hole in the wall or door so that the cable fits through. This is expensive and rarely looks really nice. And when the device for which the cable has been laid is placed in another room, all the work starts again from the beginning.
Installing the Netgear Powerline 1200
Netgear offers a very good solution, which I was able to test for you for free. Thank you so much to Netgear for providing the Netgear Powerline 1200! The principle is quite simple: your plug in Room A a powerline adaptor into the socket and connects it to the modem via the supplied cable. In Room B, the second supplied adaptor is then plugged into the socket and connected to the desired Gerrät. After both adapters have been plugged into the socket, you just have to wait for the pick-a-Pluck LEDs to light up. Then, within two minutes, man must hold the security button pressed for about two seconds on both Adapatern. This gives you a secure network. Easy!
The integrated socket is also very handy, so that the adapters can be used in rooms with few sockets without any problems. The adapters also offer a very fast Internet connection (up to > 80MBit/s). So you don't lose speed, which can be very important when streaming or Onlinegames.
Henceforth, no more cumbersome long, unsightly cables have to be laid through the apartment. With prices at €70 (as of Nov. 2017), the adapters are not quite cheap, but considering what you can save on costs for very long cables, that you do not have to drill holes and are still very flexible, even if you move or the devices within your own N House, it is definitely an investment that is worth it. The Netgear Powerline 1200 set convinced me very much, only that there is only one LAN out there I would complain. To buy there is the Repeater for example here *.
